Guilty Gear Strive X Cyberpunk Edge Runners – Lucy Finally ARRIVES!

Good day gamers! Guilty Gear Strive has been one of those fantastic fighters that has been steadily building itself with post launch content – but last month the final character from the latest season pass 4 launched. Lucy is finally here – with her signature cyberpunk flare and cyberware moves to match. I have only been able to run a few games with her but I have been loving every second. She has to be my most favorite DLC character in the game up to this point and she fits into the visual style of Guilty Gear Strive so well – its a match made in gaming heaven.

A character with short, light-colored hair and striking eyes, set against a stylized, rocky landscape, conveying a cyberpunk aesthetic.

The Cyber Aesthetic

Ok I’ll get this out of the way quickly – Lucy’s design looks like she was ripped straight out of the Edge Runners anime itself. She’s absolutely stunning! On top of her look, her move set compliments her abilities from the show perfectly. Cyberpunk and Edge Runners share a lot of key elements / visual mechanics that work within its world, and to see parts of those elements added as power moves is nothing short of amazing.

Lucy’s Fighting Style

Translating a character from an anime inspired by a first-person shooter into a 2D fighter sounds like a nightmare, but ArcSystem Works nailed it. Lucy’s move set feels natural in Strive while still pulling directly from her Cyberpunk roots. Most of her attacks center on her monowire cyberware — whip-like strikes that control mid-range and can chain together into brutal pressure combos.

Her real standout is the Quick Hack special ability. When triggered, she can activate multiple hacks at once to adapt mid-fight: one can stun, another glitches her out (making her invisible), and others can de-buff opponents which can help to create openings for her combos. It’s chaotic on paper, but in practice it works — giving her a unique rhythm that sets her apart from the rest of the roster.

Final Thoughts

Lucy’s addition feels like the cherry on top of Guilty Gear Strive’s latest season. She’s flashy, faithful to her Edge Runners roots, and a blast to play if you enjoy mix-ups and mid-range pressure. It’s rare for a crossover character to feel this seamless, but Lucy proves how much care went into her design.

With her arrival, the Season 4 roster feels complete, and ArcSystem Works has once again shown they know how to keep their fighter fresh without losing its soul. I can’t wait to dig deeper into her Quick Hack setups and see how she shakes up the competitive scene in the weeks ahead.
