Good day gamers! Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 launched nearly a year ago, and it’s been a triumphant return to old-school, high-quality gaming. It’s a visceral throwback to the early 2000s, reviving that gritty, hard-hitting action fans have been starving for. You once again step into the iron boots of Titus — a battle-worn Space Marine given a second chance to crush alien threats on the front lines. This time, it’s not Orks, but the Tyranids: a relentless hive-mind swarm hellbent on devouring all organic life. It has been an action packed thrill ride, here is my review.

What Is Space Marine 2?
For the uninitiated, the original Space Marine was a third-person shooter/melee hybrid released in 2011. It stood out for its weighty combat, letting you blast enemies with heavy firepower or charge in swinging brutal melee weapons. The sequel builds on that formula, cranking everything to eleven — and after years of silence, it was worth the wait.

The Return Of A Titan – Campaign
The main campaign runs about 8–10 hours on standard difficulty, but could be longer with extra content available through co-op missions and hidden collectibles. As Titus, you’re deployed into an all-out war zone to save the Imperial forces from total annihilation. While the story is thin, it does just enough to give the carnage context. The real star is the combat — especially when facing massive on-screen swarms of Tyranids in pure World War Z-style panic.
Graphics & Combat
Saber Interactive knocked it out of the park visually. Space Marine 2 is drenched with insane detail — armor scuffs, blood spray, weapons shells and sparks, and even features some photo mode brilliance — and if you’re running on a high-end PC with that 4K texture pack (which is a beefy 90GB), you’re in for a visual feast. Even without it, the game already looks like an animated war opera. Combat is exactly what you’d expect — tight, explosive, and gloriously over-the-top. Chainswords, executions, heavy weapons, and a new melee counter system make every encounter feel satisfying. On top of that, Space Marine 2 features online co-op and competitive multiplayer, letting you bring the Emperor’s justice alongside friends or against them. Whether you’re squad-stomping in PvE missions or clashing in brutal PvP arenas, the multiplayer adds serious replay value and that classic community chaos.
Final Thoughts…
Space Marine 2 doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel — it straps that wheel to a chainsword and runs full throttle into the carnage. It’s a loud, brutal, blood-slick love letter to the days when games were about power fantasies, not padding and polish. No forced stealth sections. No morality choices. Just righteous, over-the-top mayhem. And it is GLORIOUS. In an era where many action games tiptoed around identity, Space Marine 2 proudly stomps in with iron boots and says, “Remember what fun used to feel like?” Whether you’re a long-time Warhammer fan or just someone who misses the bone-crunching glory of the 2000s gaming scene, this one’s worth strapping in for. Glory to the Emperor!
Final Score 8.5 of 10
One final note as I have completed this post today 7.27.25 there have been tons of support updates, graphical updates, and content updates since the game came out last year. However, I am still playing it now, and have been diving into its latest Siege update which basically allows you to face waves of enemies just like Gears of War. Finally, that whole connection with those two games is funny because Gears was originally inspired by the Space Marines in Warhammer 40K. That’s a topic for another post – but for now I hope you are still enjoying Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 and its glorious violence against the ugly Tyrinid threat even a whole year later.

As always gamers, thank you so much for reading my posts. I did a double post today to help me catch up since I’ve been behind on so many amazing titles from last year. I will attempt to be consistent with posting at least once a week and twice when I can go the extra distance. Stay positive and have an incredible week!
