Good Day Gamers! After the dreadfully long wait for the fan favorite character Akuma, he is finally here and dang is he cool. Its great to see him return to this entry in the series and it has been a blast trying to relearn his moves in Street Fighter 6.

Akuma’s New Look
Since Akuma’s debut as a secret boss character he has always been a darkened counterpart to Ryu. This time around his base design is similar to his look in Street Fighter 5 only he looks much much older. Capcom made sure to make him look very aged and almost ancient. His character model features a bunch of lines throughout his body like he has tons of strained muscle fibers and this makes him look sickly and undead. A much darker vibe for Akuma, but he still looks amazing, and this time around he launched with 3 different costumes. His base is the super hardcore bearded version similar to his look from SF5 with the big hair and beads. The second is his classic old school look with the clean shave and spiked ponytail. Finally his third costume he is wearing a mask with his large beads and a kilt.
The Classic Matchup
Akuma brings with him so much nostalgia from the previous Street Fighter games. Each new game in the SF series usually changes things up to make old school characters feel new and fresh, which is what they did here with Akuma. They managed to update his visuals and yet keep his core move set but still have him feel engaging. Playing a few sets against Ryu was so much fun to get into, and it felt like the good old days of gaming again.

Final Thoughts
Street Fighter 6 has been out for a little under a year now and it still holds up as one of the best fighters out there. Last year I didn’t get a chance to write about SF6 and how much I loved the game. It actually felt like a real game launch. It had a full story mode, casual and ranked online modes, and the community game hub, which a new way to interact with other players online. By far that was one of the coolest ways to implement an interactive Hub where players could walk around and interact with the random arcades and challenge other players. It felt like a real community and it was great to be a part of that when I first got the game. Now after getting Akuma added to the roster, I have been enjoying SF6 once again and trying out the other new additions like Ed, A.K.I, and Rashid.
Capcom really did something special with SF6 as it felt like a real game for me, a game worth investing time into. Its weird to have to say that, but I’m sure if you’ve seen the chaos of modern triple A games these days you understand what I mean. Having Akuma launch as the final character is the best way to end Year 1 as he is such a fan favorite character in the series. Akuma is the cherry on top of this incredible fighter and I’m sure as they release more characters for the Year 2 Character Pass the game will only continue to get better. Lets just hope they don’t go overkill with the pricing with the new pass.

As always gamers, thank you so much for reading this post. It was great to get to play SF6 with my bro and get this awesome gameplay from the few sets we were able to play. Please enjoy the videos and have an awesome day!
