A day ago MK 11 launched a new character pack which includes three new fighters to the already epic roster. The Kombat Pack 2 will be releasing side by side the Ultimate edition of the game which will have the most updated roster. You’re pretty much getting all characters and DLC in one big package, which is awesome if you don’t already have it. I had a little time to check them out and all three of them and I have to say I haven’t had this much fun in MK11 in a long time.
Joining us this time is action movie character Rambo who is actually voiced by Sylvester Stallone himself (I still can’t believe they got him to play the voice of his character). Rambo is an awesome addition to the roster because he fits perfectly with the other classic action movie characters like Terminator and Robocop. I think it is everyone’s action movie fantasy come true to see Rambo face Terminator in a MK game and watch them beat each other to a pulp. Thankfully you can do just that with this new pack and its such a blast seeing both characters fighting each other.
Next we have the awesome purple ninja: Rain. Rain is one of my favorite characters from MK 9 and is such a welcomed addition to the series. I personally miss the original ninjas from the older games, characters like Smoke, Ermac, and Reptile so I am glad they are at least bringing back Rain. In fact Rain’s secondary fatality is an incredible tribute to the ninjas and I was so hyped the were included (at least in spirit). Rain is so fun to play simply because his water abilities are so outrageous. Most notably is his water blade fatality and his fatal blow attack where he converts water into spikes and impales his enemies in mid air. Pure insanity.
Finally we have Mileena, who is probably the most requested character in this pack. Mileena is scary, brutal, and sexy all at the same time. She has the ability to completely grab your attention either from fear or charm. Obviously shes a great fit for the roster and if I can be honest I think she should have been in the game from the beginning, so I am glad she is back on the roster. Mileena is probably my favorite character to play from the new pack simply because of her raw aggression. Her moves are fast and angry and I can’t get over how feral she is.
While I am enjoying the new characters, I can’t help but think that the second Kombat Pack seems a little light, especially when compared to Kombat Pack 1. It included 6 playable characters total, even though they were not released all at once. The Aftermath DLC had 3 new characters, and a new campaign chapter. Both have a lot more content. Hopefully, down the line NetherRealm Studios will release a few more characters to complete the roster (since there are still a few spaces open – one can only hope for more), but I can’t lie, they did an incredible job with the new pack, even if these are the final characters. Currently I am having a crazy time with all three characters and putting together some insane movie match ups.
Thank you for reading another post. I’ve wanted to write about MK11 since the Aftermath DLC came out so this was an awesome chance to write about the game. If you purchased the DLC let me know what are your thoughts about the new pack. Have a great day!
